Our purposes, ideals and principles may be learned by anyone who inquires and is accepted finding the qualified. Our secrets are maintained through a sense of tradition. These requirements have been handed down by word of mouth for centuries. We are not a secret society, but we are a society with secrets. This does not fit our organization at all. A secret society is one which conceals its membership, has secret meeting places, and of which the public has little or no knowledge of its organization or its principles. Sometime in the late seventeenth century, we believe the accepted masons outnumbered the operative masons, and we became a speculative organization rather than operative one. By becoming "speculative," we grew rapidly.Īs time went on, there became more and more of the accepted members than there were operative members. This was a big boost to Masonry, because the secret techniques of building trades were becoming more widely known, the requirements of architecture were changing, and our operative membership was declining. This practice probably originated when some of the people for whom craftsmen were working asked to be admitted and the practice grew with time. These were "accepted" Masons rather than operative masons. These men did not necessarily want to build buildings, they wanted to belong to the organization. Naturally, men wanted to become Freemasons to get the advantages the Craft had to offer. During the latter years of the Middle ages, there were few educated men outside the monasteries of the church. The word "accepted" also goes back to the time of the operative mason. We believe this freedom for the operative mason may date back as far as the year 946 in York. Most workers were under bond to the owners of the land on which they worked. In Medival England, this freedom of movement was almost unheard. For this reason, they were not placed under the same restrictions of other workers - they were "free" to do their work, travel and live their lives in a manner which befitted their importance. How did the words "free" and "accepted" originate? The ancient craftsmen were very skilled, and their craft was considered to be indispensible to the welfare of both church and state. What does the title of Free and Accepted mean? But no matter what the title, all lodges work toward the same end. Those in the District of Columbia call themselves F.A.A.M. Masons in South Carolina call themselves A.F.M. This carried over to the United States where both titles are still in existence. One faction adopted the title "Ancient" and the other did not. The reason for this difference is that in England when Grand Lodges first started, there was a rivalry between two factions of Masons. & A.M., which means Ancient Free and Accepted Masons. Titles of Grand Lodges in the United States vary. What do the titles of Grand Lodges - A.F. Speculative refers to the peroid of time when men were accepted into the Craft without being physical builders, but rather were spiritual buildiers. They were the best at their craft, and they kept secret their methods of building. Operative refers to the time in our history when masons actually did the physical labor of building. What is the difference between "Operative" and "Speculative" Masonry? This is the source of the first degree, the Entered Apprentice. Other men were admitted only after they had served a number of years of apprenticeship. They had officers and stations just like ours. Operative masons back then formed groups with structures similar to ours today. Operative masonry can be traced back to the Middle Ages and beyond. What caused the transistion from "Operative" to "Speculative" Masonry? A parade of nine thousand Freemasons, described in the event’s program as “an escort of Knights Templar”, marched up Fifth Avenue for the cornerstone ceremony. Here's my very personal. The items, they say, included a perfect and rough ashlar or stone, a trowel and a diamond-shaped aperture said to represent the Master’s jewel, all important Masonic symbols. When cutting, deleting, copying, or pasting text the user can choose to store the manipulated text in a register. Vim features various special memory entries called registers (not to be confused with hardware or processor registers). Vim also has a built-in help facility (using the :help command) which allows users to query and navigate through commands and features. The Vim Users' Manual details Vim's features and can be read from within Vim, or found online. Vim has a built-in tutorial for beginners called vimtutor, which is usually installed along with Vim, but is a separate executable and can be run with a shell command. Vi (and by extension Vim) tends to allow a typist to keep their fingers on the home row, which can be an advantage for a touch typist. Like vi, Vim's interface is not based on menus or icons but on commands given in a text user interface its GUI mode, gVim, adds menus and toolbars for commonly used commands but the full functionality is still expressed through its command line mode. The Vim license is compatible with the GNU General Public License through a special clause allowing distribution of modified copies under the GNU GPL version 2.0 or later. Vim is released under the Vim license, which includes some charityware clauses that encourage users who enjoy the software to consider donating to children in Uganda. In 2018, it was voted the most popular editor amongst Linux Journal readers in 2015 the Stack Overflow developer survey found it to be the third most popular text editor, and in 2019 the fifth most popular development environment. Since its release for the Amiga, cross-platform development has made it available on many other systems. Vim is designed for use both from a command-line interface and as a standalone application in a graphical user interface. Vim's author, Bram Moolenaar, derived Vim from a port of the Stevie editor for Amiga and released a version to the public in 1991. It is an improved clone of Bill Joy's vi. They highlighted Hightouch’s superior product and user experience as delightful and second to none. The advocacy and appreciation we heard from Hightouch customers was exceptionally positive. With Hightouch, businesses can set up performant and continuous syncs in mere minutes. Traditionally, this kind of data connectivity required weeks of engineers’ time to configure, along with continuous maintenance, validation and rebuilding to ensure that these brittle pipelines did not break. There’s no doubt that data-driven insights-such as custom marketing qualified lead (MQL) scores, prospects’ propensity to buy, churn risk and customer lifetime value (LTV)-are far more powerful if they’re accessible via everyday tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk, Braze, NetSuite and Slack. Users can use SQL queries, or Hightouch’s no-code visual mapper, to enrich workflows within existing SaaS tools with relevant, actionable data. Their platform enables data teams and business users to access any data residing in an organization’s cloud data warehouse without complex infrastructure or logic. Inspired, they teamed up with Kashish, who had also observed this problem at other technology companies, to found Hightouch. We’re seeing new use cases rapidly emerge as teams realize the power of operationalizing their data to personalize customer interactions and improve internal workflows.Īs early engineers at Segment, Tejas and Josh gained deep understanding of the challenges customers face when trying to empower non-data teams with insights. For example, sales teams can see predictive scores on their customers’ propensity to buy directly within their CRM, marketers can leverage sophisticated data-driven models for customer segmentation and personalization, and customer success teams can align on “health scores” to address potential issues within their customer base. Hightouch’s Reverse ETL platform knocks down the silo by enabling enterprises to seamlessly sync their data to the various SaaS, marketing, sales and customer success platforms that business teams rely on. While recent innovation in data infrastructure software has empowered organizations to seamlessly collect and analyze their data, there remains a tremendous opportunity to democratize access to data across the company so that it can be operationalized. Organizations everywhere recognize the importance of data to inform decisions, but it’s difficult to turn any data-driven insights into action. We strongly believe that Reverse ETL will serve as a critical component of the modern data stack as organizations seek to democratize their data to business users, and that the Hightouch team, with its depth of expertise and strong customer orientation, is uniquely positioned to build a game-changing product and business in this emerging space! We are excited to partner with co-founders Josh Curl, Kashish Gupta and Tejas Manohar and the amazing team at Hightouch as they help organizations operationalize their valuable data and enable more teams to act on the insights.
Amazing facts – The Shoebill is endemic to East and Central African, countries of Uganda, DRC, Kenya, Botswana, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Zambia and South Sudan. Such a meditative and yet cunning hunter. It is said that a shoebill can stand motionless for hours while holding their bills close to their necks. A shoebill spends most of the time standing, hidden and watching out for its prey. The male and female bow to each other as a display of their courtship. The shoebill can fly but not for a long period of time considering it can only flap its wings 150 times a minute (Slowest rate of any bird). It will make a resounding clapping-like sound attracting the said female while simultaneously scaring away any competitors and other small animals. This is most evidenced in the mating season when the male adult picks out its mate. However, when it does make a sound, it is indeed ground shaking. It is a quiet animal and can go for days without making any noise or sounds except for the flapping of its wings. The bigger chicks often pick on the smaller ones especially when the mother is way, and this often drives the defeated bird to live outside of the family. They fight each other off until the weakest chick is pushed out. It is the real survival for the fittest in the shoebill’s nest. The chicks of a shoe bill are known for being insanely competitive. It usually only comes together for mating, building the nesting area and incubating the eggs. It’s such a very quiet and solitary bird. A shoebill stork becomes sexually active at 3 to 4 years of age. Amazing facts -The shoebill stork can live for more than 35 years in the wild. This means they are more closely related to the pelicans, anhingas and gannets than to the storks. These are a family of medium to large-sized water birds. This means that when a shoebill spreads its wings, it has a bigger wingspan.Īlthough it is called a shoebill stork, it is a member of the taxonomic order of Pelecaniformes. The shoebill wings can spread up to 2.5 meters (8 feet) and can flap about 150 times per minute. The legs are slender and black in colour, very long, with such very large feet. The beak is almost 10 inches long, deadly and used for both feeding and protecting itself. The beak of the shoebill is curved at the tip and has very sharp edges with which the bird uses to cut through its food. Its most outstanding feature is the shoe-shaped bill and its greyish colour. Shoebill – stork-Amazing facts – The shoebill can be as tall as 4.5 feet and weigh up to 7 kilograms. Amazing facts – Uganda Birding Safaris- Bird tours. The shoebill looks mean and a little prehistoric compared to other species in the same bird Shoebill stork. With its big ‘shoe-like’ bill, the shoebill a marvel to see. If you have only seen pictures of it, it might look a little unreal until `you have jumped onto that canoe boat with your amazing camera and encounter this rare bird species first hand. We didn't feel it was run-down or old.but, we can see that just visiting the complex would be a let down without a shuttle launch. From reading other reviews, it seems the complex has improved upon itself lately. Food cost was the same as a theme park, gift shop is huge, complex was clean, staff were friendly and parking was easy. After the launch we went on an amended tour of the facility which was great! We missed out on the launch pad for obvious reasons, but, still worth the time in line (2 hours for the line and 2.5 hours min on the tour - we did rush at the end). The weather was partly cloudy, hot and humid so you may want to bring an umbrella, blankets (water proof bottom) and chair. By the time you finish the experience, IMAX and stroll around a little, the 'launch specific' memoribilia will be set-up and ready for purchase, it goes quickly so don't wait! The Shuttle Launch Experience was OK, Disney's Mission to Mars was far superior, so don't expect a wopper of a ride, it is like Star Tours without the shacking, you do get to tilt up though. These are the best times because NO ONE IS THERE! On a typical launch day they say there will be 12,000 people onsite so avoid the queues. Once you clear security, get your complex map, and head straight to the Shuttle Launch Experience and IMAX. and we noticed tons of people had tons of stuff, so, don't worry to much about leaving things behind you feel you need, the security people are thorogh and friendly. It was so great for us!!! The notices said no backpacks, etc. We parked in the 5th row, there were tons of buses, but, the complex was emtpy. After we left the breakfast we discovered we could have seen him on the green or in the theatre anyway, so, it turns out it wasn't special and we got to pay for food you would feed to pigs! If we hadn't had breakfast we would have secured a better place on the lawn for launch! We left Olrando at 5am and were at KSC by 6am for our prescribed arrival time. The talk by 'John' the Astronaut was OK, very very very short and very well rehearsed. There were no instructions on how the meal would work, it was a free-for-all.have you ever seen hungry American's! By the time we got to the buffett the food was gone! We had to stand there and wait 15 minutes for more food to arrive and then they started the Astronaut talk whilst we were in the other room waiting for food. The line to enter wasn't roped off correctly and it was 1st in-1st seated, by the time we got to the door, so many people pushed in they wanted to put us at the back (which we pressured them to move us forward). The food was of poor/average quality (food you would get at a greasy diner on the roadside). We didn't realise it would be in a large hall with 150 other people watching someone talk on a stage. It was as if they had never coordinated this type of event before. Still, it was great! We had breakfast with an Astronaut included in our ticket and, needless to say, this was the worst part about the entire experience. We were based down at the lake edge on the walkway and the tree line was a tad high and the people behind us had a slightly earlier view of the launch than we did. All spots are good, but, you will get to see shuttle prep on the video screen and watch the speakers on stage. So, be ready to type very fast! We got to view the STS-120 Shuttle launch (Discovery) from the Visitor Complex and it was amazing! Make sure you stake our you viewing spot on the top of the hill just to the right of the stage and monitor for the best spot looking towards the flag poles (just to the right of the US flaf). which took time and meant we lost out on our 1st choice. Tickets do sell out within two minutes online, and, when you select the tickets you want, then another screen gets you to fill in your details, etc. that we may have missed if we went out to the viewing area outside of the complex. The descriptions are a tad misleading, confusing and incorrect, so when we bought out tickets for the shuttle launch, we bought the wrong ones, which, in the end was best because we got to stay at the complex and visit the exhibits, etc. The KSC website is a good place to start and tour around online, but, one main concern is how confusing and user-unfriendly it is when you need to purchase tickets. The main thing to point out is that going to KSC would be an average history tour of the US space program, but, with a shuttle launch included, it makes the entire experience a fantastic one! We did have some small issues, but, all in all, we really enjoyed ourselves. Thank God for his grace which has brought peace between God and those who have put their faith in Christ. But we can, and will, get at anything that comes from God and anything that reflects God. We cannot get at God (except for that one time we could, and we crucified him). Humanity is in a state of open warfare with God. What is abortion but humanity elevating our middle finger toward God by gleefully destroying the creatures that God loves most? What is euthanasia but people flipping God the bird while ending a life created by God? What are gay marriage and no-fault divorce and the pornography plague but people looking God in the eye, elevating that middle finger, and daring him to do something about it? We know we cannot harm God, but we do know we can harm people. This explains so many of the headlines we read every day. The closest we can get to harming or destroying God is harming or destroying human beings. God tells us that there is just one creature who is made in his image and in his likeness-human beings. Most importantly, we hate God so we hate his image. We don’t actually have a beef with them, we have a beef with God and take it out on his creatures. We only treat animals badly because we don’t know how to treat God badly. We only kick the dog because at that moment we can’t kick God. We treat it badly as a display of our scorn for God. We display our contempt toward God by thinking too little of his creation, by polluting it recklessly, by stewarding it poorly. The reason we treat the earth badly is not that we hate the earth or are even apathetic about it. This hatred is the motivation behind the way we interact with God and with what God has made. We are born hating God, we die hating God, and we live our short lives hating God. At least we do unless God intervenes and lowers it by his grace. We die with our middle finger extended toward God. We grow up with our middle finger extended toward God. I think we understand humanity best when we understand that human beings are born with our middle finger extended toward God. It is almost a dare: This is what I think of you what are you going to do about it? People flash it to display utter contempt toward another person. It is a symbol of utter scorn, a symbol associated with the most offensive four-letter word. In many places in the world, elevating the middle finger is about as offensive as gestures get. Has anyone experienced this situation? and if yes, how have you worked around the problem? I've only option left with me is to roll back to previous version of Firefox, which is my last resort. It throws BSP page error and tells that this browser is not compatible with CRM Web UI. I only realized it when I tried to launch CRM Web UI on this new version of Mozilla browser that I can not open up the CRM Web UI. Recently, I've upgraded Firefox browser from version 9.0 to 10.0 (which is the latest version as Mozilla wanted its user base to upgrade to address a few security holes in earlier version), not knowing its implication on the CRM Web UI. I prefer it to IE as Firefox browser is faster (in rendering web pages) than IE browser (be it any version of IE). I always use Mozilla Firefox browser to launch CRM Web UI. I'm floating this question to this forum in order to find out if any one has witnessed the situation, which I've and if yes, could he/she succeed in finding a solution to the problem ?. But playing them on your phone can still be less than ideal. Mobile gaming has gotten incredibly advanced, and some of the games available for iPhones are truly amazing. Plus, you get all of the other advantages of mirroring your screen, including the benefits of sharing your phone screen. When you use one of the options above to mirror your phone’s functions to your computer screen, you can easily transfer files directly to your computer without all the hassle. Or, if a file is too big – or if there are multiple files – they might opt for a file transfer protocol (FTP) app that usually costs money and still takes multiple steps and too much time. Users often resort to things like attaching files to an email and sending them to their own email account. Transferring files from your phone to your computer can be cumbersome and time-consuming. Then you can show the whole team what they need to see to improve collaboration and streamline work sessions. Instead, just mirror your phone to your laptop or desktop and share your screen on your next call. How often have you needed to share your phone screen on a work call, but you just had to fumble through by holding your phone up to your webcam? It’s awkward and ineffective at best. When you know how to screen-mirror your iPhone to Windows 10 to stream, you have a powerful tool for your next video call. Here are just a few of the things you can do when you learn how to cast your iPhone to a Windows 10 laptop or desktop: From gaming and streaming to creating presentations and tutorials, mirroring your screen can be immensely useful. People project their iPhone displays to their computer screens for multiple reasons. |
